Ikos Olivia, Halkidiki

Best Ikos Resort for Babies and Toddlers

Luxury outdoor Mediterranean restaurant terrace with lemon trees, wicker chairs, and ocean views.
Luxury outdoor Mediterranean restaurant terrace with lemon trees, wicker chairs, and ocean views.

If you're travelling with young children, Ikos Olivia is usually the first resort I recommend.

As one of the original Ikos resorts, Olivia has built an outstanding reputation with families thanks to its relaxed atmosphere, manageable size and excellent facilities for younger children. Unlike some larger resorts, everything is within an easy walk, making life much simpler when you're pushing a buggy, carrying swimming gear or returning to your room for nap time.

Set among ancient olive trees overlooking Toroneos Bay, the resort has a beautiful 450-metre Blue Flag beach with calm, shallow water that's ideal for younger children. The dedicated splash park and heated children's pools are always popular, while the spacious gardens provide plenty of room for little ones to explore safely.

Accommodation ranges from contemporary double rooms to spacious bungalow suites, giving families plenty of choice depending on the ages of their children. If you're travelling with a baby, the resort offers thoughtful extras including baby baths, cots, sterilisers and bottle warmers on request.

Dining is another standout feature. Families can choose from five à la carte restaurants alongside the Mediterranean Market buffet, with children's menus available throughout the resort. As with every Ikos property, the service is exceptional, and staff go out of their way to make younger guests feel welcome.

The children's clubs are operated by Worldwide Kids, with a crèche available from 4 months, a complimentary Mini Club for children aged 4 to 12 and a Teen Club during the summer season.

Why families love Ikos Olivia

  • Around 50 minutes from Thessaloniki Airport

  • Beautiful Blue Flag beach

  • Recently renovated accommodation

  • Four heated swimming pools

  • Dedicated splash park

  • Five à la carte restaurants

  • Mediterranean Market buffet

  • Spacious bungalow suites

  • Deluxe Collection available

My recommendation

If you have babies, toddlers, or preschool children, Ikos Olivia is one of the easiest Ikos resorts to enjoy with them. Its compact layout, fantastic childcare and relaxed atmosphere make family life feel effortless.

Ikos Oceania, Halkidiki

Best Ikos Resort for Food Lovers

Aerial view of a luxury beachfront resort with swimming pools, turquoise sea, and lush greenery.

Ikos Oceania offers a slightly more refined atmosphere without losing any of the family-friendly appeal that makes the brand so popular. Built across landscaped gardens overlooking the Aegean Sea, Oceania feels peaceful and elegant from the moment you arrive. Many rooms enjoy spectacular sea views, while the cascading design gives the resort a real sense of space.

Dining is one of Oceania's biggest strengths. Alongside five exceptional à la carte restaurants and the Market buffet, guests can also enjoy the Dine Out programme, allowing you to experience carefully selected local restaurants as part of your all-inclusive holiday. If great food is one of the reasons you book luxury holidays, Oceania consistently delivers.

Families are equally well catered for. Children can enjoy the Worldwide Kids clubs, heated pools and beach, while parents often appreciate the adults-only pool and quieter atmosphere during the day.

Accommodation includes stylish rooms, spacious family suites and Deluxe Collection options for those wanting an even more exclusive experience.

Why families love Ikos Oceania

  • Around 40 minutes from Thessaloniki Airport

  • Elevated sea views

  • Five heated swimming pools

  • Beautiful Blue Flag beach

  • Adults-only pool area

  • Five à la carte restaurants

  • Mediterranean Market buffet

  • Deluxe Collection suites

My recommendation

If you're choosing between Olivia and Oceania, the decision often comes down to your children. For babies and toddlers I'd usually lean towards Olivia. For older children or families who prioritise exceptional dining and a slightly more sophisticated atmosphere, Oceania is an outstanding choice.

Ikos Aria, Kos

Best Ikos Resort for the Beach

Luxury outdoor resort lounge with white sofas and ocean views at dusk near a cliffside pool.
Luxury outdoor resort lounge with white sofas and ocean views at dusk near a cliffside pool.

If having a beautiful sandy beach is at the top of your holiday wish list, Ikos Aria is hard to beat. Located on Kos' south-west coast, Aria enjoys one of the finest beaches in the entire Ikos collection. The long stretch of soft sand, crystal-clear water and uninterrupted sea views create an incredible setting for a luxury family holiday.

It's also one of the easiest Ikos resorts to reach, with a transfer of around 20 minutes from Kos International Airport, making it ideal for families travelling with young children.

Aria is one of the larger resorts within the Ikos portfolio, offering plenty of space without ever feeling crowded. The beautifully landscaped gardens, wide-open beachfront and multiple pool areas mean families can always find somewhere to relax.

Dining is exceptional, with seven à la carte restaurants, the Market buffet and the Dine Out programme offering enormous variety throughout your stay. Families can also enjoy the complimentary shuttle service into Kos Town, while the Local Drive Adventure allows you to explore more of the island at your own pace.

For children, there are heated pools, a toddler splash area, excellent childcare and a full programme of sports and entertainment.

Why families love Ikos Aria

  • Around 20 minutes from Kos Airport

  • One of the best beaches in the Ikos collection

  • Seven à la carte restaurants

  • Complimentary shuttle to Kos Town

  • Sunset cruise experiences

  • Spacious resort with beautifully landscaped gardens

  • Deluxe Collection accommodation

My recommendation

For families who picture long days on a beautiful sandy beach with plenty of space, Ikos Aria is difficult to beat. It combines one of the shortest airport transfers with one of the most spectacular beachfront settings in the entire Ikos portfolio.

Ikos Dassia, Corfu

Best Ikos Resort for Teenagers

Outdoor kids splash pad with a whale fountain and water spray features at a sunny luxury resort.
Outdoor kids splash pad with a whale fountain and water spray features at a sunny luxury resort.

If you're travelling with teenagers, Ikos Dassia is usually my first recommendation.

Teenagers often want more independence, a wider choice of activities and somewhere that feels lively without being overcrowded. Dassia strikes that balance perfectly. It's one of the largest resorts in the Ikos collection, offering plenty of restaurants, sports facilities and entertainment, while still maintaining the relaxed luxury the brand is known for.

Set on Corfu's east coast, the resort enjoys beautiful views across the Ionian Sea towards mainland Greece. Low-rise accommodation sits among mature gardens, creating a resort that feels spacious rather than built-up.

One of Dassia's standout features is its fantastic range of dining options. With seven à la carte restaurants, the Market buffet and the Dine Out programme, families could easily stay for two weeks without repeating many meals. For older children and teenagers, that variety makes a real difference.

Sport is another reason families choose Dassia. Tennis, paddleboarding, canoeing, cycling, fitness classes and evening entertainment ensure there's always something happening. Golf enthusiasts can also enjoy a complimentary round at the historic Corfu Golf Club, complete with transfers, equipment and green fees included.

Accommodation ranges from stylish rooms to spacious villas within the Deluxe Collection, making it suitable for both smaller families and larger groups.

Ikos Dassia in Corfu is an excellent choice for teenagers. The resort offers a "Just4Teens" club for ages 12+, featuring a designated hangout space, DJ lessons, table tennis, and water sports.

Why families love Ikos Dassia

  • Around 20 minutes from Corfu Airport

  • Beautiful Blue Flag beach

  • Seven heated pools

  • Seven à la carte restaurants

  • Ten bars

  • Complimentary golf experience

  • Excellent sports facilities

  • Spacious Deluxe villas

Things to consider

Dassia is one of the largest Ikos resorts, so there can be more walking between some accommodations and the main facilities. If you have very young children and want everything within a few minutes, another resort may suit you better.

My recommendation

If your children are teenagers or older, Dassia offers one of the best balances of luxury, entertainment and choice across the entire Ikos collection.

Ikos Odisia, Corfu

Best Ikos Resort for Large Families and Multi-Generational Holidays

Aerial view of a luxury beachfront resort with circular swimming pools and private villas near the ocean.
Aerial view of a luxury beachfront resort with circular swimming pools and private villas near the ocean.

Ikos Odisia is a 60-acre resort on Corfu's east coast in Dassia, Greece. Just a 20-minute drive from Corfu Airport, the resort is set on a blue flag beach and has 10 heated pools. Although Ikos Odisia shares the same beautiful bay as Dassia, the two resorts have very different personalities. Odisia feels calmer, greener and more contemporary. Set within 60 acres of landscaped gardens, it offers a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of space for families wanting to spread out.

Ikos Odisia features eight restaurants, with five offering premium waterfront views of the Ionian Sea, Ipsos Bay, and the Corfiot coast. Standout options include Elia (360-degree sea views), Ouzo (beachfront Greek setting), and Sea Grill (overlooking the bay).

For 2026, Odisia introduced spectacular three- and four-bedroom Deluxe villas with private pools, making it one of the best options for grandparents travelling with children and grandchildren or families holidaying together.

Guests can also enjoy complimentary access to Corfu Golf Club and a regular shuttle service into Corfu Town.

The accommodation is one of the strongest reasons to choose Odisia. Larger suites and villas provide plenty of space without compromising on luxury, while the resort's low-rise design means it never feels crowded.

Why families love Ikos Odisia

  • Around 25 minutes from Corfu Airport

  • Contemporary design

  • Ten heated indoor and outdoor pools

  • Seven à la carte restaurants

  • Two Dine Out restaurants

  • Complimentary shuttle to Corfu Town

  • Complimentary Golf experience

  • Deluxe villas with private pools

  • Beautiful landscaped gardens

Things to consider

Odisia is a larger resort than it first appears; golf buggies are readily available to transfer guests around the resort. Families wanting a more compact layout may prefer Olivia.

My recommendation

If you're travelling with grandparents or another family, Odisia would be one of my first recommendations. The larger accommodation and peaceful surroundings work brilliantly for multi-generational holidays.

Ikos Porto Petro, Mallorca

Best Ikos Resort for Luxury, Privacy and Boutique Style

Aerial view of a luxury coastal resort in Mallorca with swimming pools and turquoise ocean views.
Aerial view of a luxury coastal resort in Mallorca with swimming pools and turquoise ocean views.

Porto Petro feels quite different from the Greek Ikos resorts. Located beside Mondragó Natural Park on Mallorca's south-east coast, Porto Petro combines beautiful scenery with stylish contemporary accommodation and excellent service. Rather than one long beach, the resort is built around two secluded sandy coves overlooking crystal-clear Mediterranean waters. The result is a more intimate atmosphere that appeals to families wanting a quieter luxury escape.

One of the biggest additions for 2026 is the introduction of stunning Deluxe villas with private pools, giving larger families an even higher level of privacy and space.

Dining follows the familiar Ikos formula, with five à la carte restaurants, the Market concept restaurant and the Dine Out programme allowing guests to experience local Mallorcan cuisine.

Why families love Ikos Porto Petro

  • Around 50 minutes from Palma Airport

  • Two secluded sandy coves

  • Deluxe villas with private pools

  • Beautiful marina nearby

  • Six heated pools

  • Five à la carte restaurants

  • Boutique atmosphere

  • Incredible sea views

Things to consider

If your children love huge beaches and lots of organised activities, one of the larger Greek resorts may suit you better.

My recommendation

Porto Petro is ideal for families seeking understated luxury, beautiful scenery, and a more peaceful holiday.

Ikos Andalusia, Costa del Sol

Best Ikos Resort for Spring and Autumn Holidays

Luxury outdoor lounge with beach views, white sofas, and palm trees during a sunset at a coastal resort.
Luxury outdoor lounge with beach views, white sofas, and palm trees during a sunset at a coastal resort.

Located between Marbella and Estepona on Spain's Costa del Sol, it enjoys consistently warmer temperatures than many Greek destinations, making it one of the best Ikos resorts outside the main summer season.

The resort is impressive in scale, offering nine swimming pools, eight à la carte restaurants, spacious suites and the largest villas in the Ikos collection. It offers a slightly more social, lively atmosphere than some of the more tucked-away Greek island properties.

Families also benefit from easy access from Malaga Airport, with a transfer of around 50 minutes.

Like every Ikos resort, children are exceptionally well catered for through the Worldwide Kids clubs, sports activities and evening entertainment. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy complimentary green fees at Los Naranjos Golf Club as part of the Ikos Local Discovery experience.

Why families love Ikos Andalusia

  • Around 50 minutes from Malaga Airport

  • Nine swimming pools

  • Eight à la carte restaurants

  • Largest villas in the Ikos collection

  • Beautiful Costa del Sol location

  • Excellent spring and autumn weather

  • Complimentary golf experience

Things to consider

If you're travelling during Easter, May half term, or October half term, Ikos Andalusia deserves serious consideration for its warm sunshine.

My recommendation

Andalusia is ideal if you need spacious suites and the largest villas.

Ikos Kissamos, Crete

Best Ikos Resort thats brand new

Luxury beachfront resort in Greece featuring a curved outdoor swimming pool with a pool bar and ocean views.
Luxury beachfront resort in Greece featuring a curved outdoor swimming pool with a pool bar and ocean views.

As the newest addition to the Ikos portfolio, Ikos Kissamos has generated huge interest from families looking to experience the latest resort from one of Europe's leading luxury brands.

Located close to Chania on Crete's north-west coast, the resort combines everything guests already love about Ikos with brand-new facilities, contemporary accommodation, beautiful beachfront surroundings, and a relaxed atmosphere. The resort is just a short trip from some of the Mediterranean's world-famous and most unspoiled areas, including the stunning Balos Lagoon and Elafonisi beaches.

Spread across more than 50 acres of landscaped gardens, Kissamos has been designed with families firmly in mind. Low-rise buildings, spacious suites, extensive sports facilities such as state-of-the-art padel and tennis courts. Plus, a fantastic splash area ensures there's plenty for children of all ages.

Dining includes six à la carte restaurants alongside the Market restaurant, while the Ikos Spa, Local Drive Adventure and Dine Out experiences continue the brand's signature approach to luxury all-inclusive holidays.

Why families love Ikos Kissamos

  • Around 50 minutes from Chania Airport

  • Newest Ikos resort

  • Beachfront setting

  • Nine indoor and outdoor pools

  • Six à la carte restaurants

  • Extensive sports facilities

  • Beautiful, landscaped gardens

  • Contemporary accommodation

Things to consider

As with any brand-new resort, demand is likely to remain extremely high during the first few seasons, so booking early is advisable if you want the widest choice of rooms.

My recommendation

If you love trying new luxury resorts and want the latest Ikos experience, Kissamos should be at the top of your shortlist.

Which Ikos Resort Would I Choose?

This is probably the question I'm asked more than any other. The truth is, there isn't one "best" Ikos resort. If I were booking for...

Babies and toddlers: Ikos Olivia

Children aged 5 to 12: Ikos Aria

Teenagers: Ikos Dassia

Food lovers: Ikos Oceania

Luxury villas: Ikos Porto Petro

Multi-generational travelling together: Ikos Odisia

Spring or October half-term: Ikos Andalusia

A brand-new luxury resort: Ikos Kissamos

Choosing the right Ikos resort isn't about booking the newest or the most expensive. It's about matching the resort to your family.

Is the Ikos Deluxe Collection Worth It?

This is one of the most common questions I get asked, and the answer is always the same... It depends on how your family likes to holiday.

For some families, the Deluxe Collection is absolutely worth the additional cost. For others, the standard Ikos experience already offers everything they need. The right choice depends on your budget, your children's ages, and your holiday preferences.

What Does the Deluxe Collection Include?

Guests staying in the Deluxe Collection enjoy a range of additional benefits, including:

  • Dedicated Deluxe Concierge before and during your stay

  • Complimentary private transfers

  • Priority restaurant reservations

  • Exclusive Deluxe beach and pool areas

  • Upgraded mini bar with premium drinks and snacks

  • Champagne throughout your stay

  • Enhanced in-room dining

  • Deluxe wine list

  • Two complimentary spa treatments per suite

  • Complimentary Heroes Supper Club for children aged four to 12

  • Complimentary electric MINI for two days

  • Farewell gift

Many resorts also offer larger suites and villas within the Deluxe Collection, making it particularly attractive for larger families or those celebrating a special occasion.

My Advice

Families often assume they need to upgrade to the Deluxe Collection to enjoy the full Ikos experience. In reality, the standard experience is already exceptional. If your priority is having the largest accommodation, exclusive pool areas or additional privacy, I'd certainly consider Deluxe.

If you're spending most of your day on the beach, exploring the destination or making full use of everything the resort offers, I may recommend putting that money towards a larger room.

It's advice like this that can save families thousands of pounds while ensuring they still have an incredible holiday.

Is Ikos Worth the Money?

Luxury holidays are expensive, so it's a fair question. My answer is yes, provided you choose the right resort. When you compare what is included at Ikos with many other luxury all-inclusive resorts, the value becomes much clearer.

You're not just paying for accommodation.

You're getting:

  • Michelin-inspired dining

  • Premium drinks

  • Children's clubs

  • Watersports

  • Evening entertainment

  • Luxury accommodation

  • Beach service

  • Local restaurants included through Dine Out

  • Complimentary Local Drive Adventure

  • Exceptional service

Very few luxury resorts include this much without constant extra charges. The biggest mistake I see isn't booking Ikos. It's booking the wrong Ikos resort or the wrong room category. That's why I always recommend speaking to an Ikos specialist to compare the resorts before making a decision.
