Sani Resort at a Glance
Sani Resort sits within a 1,000-acre private ecological reserve on Greece's Kassandra Peninsula in Halkidiki — seven kilometres of Blue Flag beaches, 25 restaurants, five spas, and world-class sporting academies, all within a single car-free estate.
What all guests share across the resort
• Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre
• Chelsea FC International Soccer Centre (ages 5–14)
• Bear Grylls Survival Academy (ideal for older children and teens)
• Sani Kids Club (6 months to 12 years) and Teen Club (mid-June to end of August)
• 25 restaurants, including Michelin-starred dining
• Watersports, sailing and paddleboarding from the marina
• Five luxury spas
• 10km of pine forest trails
• Annual Sani Festival — live music through the summer
Expert insight: One thing that surprises many families: you book one hotel, but you have the run of the entire resort. The five hotels share all of the above facilities. So your choice of hotel is really about your base, your rooms, your pool, your dining, not what you can access.

1. Sani Beach
Best age range: 2–12 years | Vibe: Lively, sociable, beach-first
What it's like
Sani Beach is the original and largest hotel at the resort. It sits directly on the beach — arguably the best beachfront position of all five properties, with the kids' club, splash pool, and watersports centre virtually on your doorstep. For families with children under 12, it is the most practical and connected based on the resort.
Accommodation ranges from sea-view rooms to one- and two-bedroom suites. The large buffet-style restaurant makes feeding children at different times genuinely flexible, something parents of fussy eaters or toddlers will appreciate more than any Michelin star.
Who it suits
• Families with toddlers and primary-school-age children who want immediate beach and kids' club access.
• First-time Sani visitors who want the full resort experience at a lower price point than Sani Dunes or Sani Asterias.
• Families who enjoy a sociable, lively atmosphere rather than quiet seclusion.
Expert insight: Of all five hotels, Sani Beach is the one I would choose for families with children aged 2–8 who want to maximise their time on the beach and in the kids' club. The buffet is a genuine relief when you have small children who need feeding at 6 pm.
Common mistake: Some families book Sani Beach expecting the same boutique feel as Sani Dunes or Sani Asterias. It's the most hotel-like of the five, and the busiest. If you're after privacy or seclusion, look at Sani Club instead.
PRO
Prime beachfront, best beach access of all five hotels
Kids' club and splash pool right on the doorstep
Flexible buffet dining suits varied children's mealtimes
Best-value entry into Sani Resort
Spacious family suites available
Sociable, lively atmosphere
CONS
The largest and busiest hotel, and the least private of the five.
Further from Sani Marina than Porto Sani or Sani Asterias.
Buffet dining lacks the finesse of Sani Dunes or Asterias.
Can feel crowded at peak times.
Not right for families with older children who want sophistication.
Our verdict: The best all-round choice for families with children aged 2–12. The beachfront position and kids' facilities are unmatched within the resort.
Porto Sani
Best age range: 0–10 years | Vibe: Spacious, villa-style, family-first

What it's like
Porto Sani does something the other hotels don't quite replicate: it feels like a private villa within a luxury resort. Accommodation is arranged in low-rise, villa-style buildings with separate bedrooms and living areas, a genuine luxury when you're travelling with babies or toddlers who need an early bedtime.
It's also where Sani's central crèche is located, accepting children from 6 months old. The pools here are widely considered the best on the resort, and the marina is a short walk away for evening dining.
Who it suits
• Families with babies and toddlers, crèche proximity from 6 months is the key advantage
• Families who need the space that separate bedrooms provide
• Larger families or multi-generational groups, three-bedroom Family Suites available
• Those who want a quieter, more residential feel while staying central to resort life
Expert insight: Porto Sani is my top recommendation for families with children under five. The villa-style layout means you're not all sleeping in one room, the crèche is steps away, and the pools are genuinely beautiful. Many of my clients with babies consider it the best decision they have made.
Common mistake: Families sometimes choose Porto Sani, hoping for the same lively beach atmosphere as Sani Beach. It's calmer and slightly further from the main beach, which is a positive for some families and a disappointment for others. Be clear on what you want.
ProP
PROS
Villa-style suites with separate bedrooms — essential for babies and toddlers
Crèche from 6 months, the closest of all five hotels
Best pools on the resort, according to many guests' accounts
Direct access to Sani Marina
Three-bedroom suites for larger groups
Quieter and more spacious feel
CONS
Slightly further from the main beachfront than Sani Beach
Higher price point than Sani Beach
Calmer atmosphere, not ideal if you want a sociable buzz
Less suited to families with teens wanting activity and energy
Our verdict: Our number-one recommendation for families with babies or toddlers. The crèche, villa-style rooms, and beautiful pools remove most of the friction from travelling with very young children.
Sani Beach vs Porto Sani: Which Should You Choose?
This is the most common comparison I'm asked about, and the answer almost always comes down to your youngest child's age.
• Children under 5: Porto Sani. The villa-style rooms and proximity to the crèche are worth the extra cost.
• Children aged 5–12: Sani Beach. The beachfront location and access to the kids' club set it apart for this age group.
• Mixed-age families (toddler and school-age): Porto Sani, for the space and flexibility.
• Budget-conscious families: Sani Beach offers the most accessible entry price into the resort.
Expert insight: If you have one child under two and another aged 5–8, Porto Sani wins. The villa layout means the baby can sleep while the older child plays you don't have everyone in one room trying to be quiet at 7 pm.
Sani Club
Best age range: 0–10 years | Vibe: Secluded, natural, peaceful

What it's like
Sani Club occupies its own quiet corner of the resort, perched among ancient olive groves with panoramic views across the Aegean and Mount Olympus. It is the most secluded of the five hotels, low-rise bungalows with floor-to-ceiling windows, genuinely immersed in the landscape rather than simply near it.
The walk down to the main resort takes around 10 minutes, or a golf buggy can be arranged on request. It is a deliberate choice for families who want to feel removed from the bustle, not isolated, but properly peaceful.
Who it suits
• Families who prioritise nature, peace, and a sense of genuine escape
• Those with young children who thrive in a slower, quieter environment
• Families who want resort access on their own terms, not surrounded by it
• Nature-loving families who will use the forest trails
Expert insight: Sani Club is the hotel that looks beautiful in photos and feels even better in person, but only if you're the right kind of traveller. If your children need constant stimulation and want to be in the middle of everything, this isn't the right fit. If you want a genuinely restorative holiday where the children run in the olive groves and go to bed early, it's magical.
Common mistake: Sani Club is sometimes underestimated because it lacks the wow factor of Sani Dunes or the buzz of Sani Beach. Its value is quieter: the views, the bungalow character, and the sense of having your own corner of the resort. Families who book it for the 'deal' and arrive expecting liveliness often wish they'd chosen differently.
PROS
Most secluded and private hotel on the resort
Extraordinary views — Aegean Sea and Mount Olympus
Charming low-rise bungalow character
Spacious rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows
Interconnecting family rooms available
Quietest hotel — genuinely restorative
CONS
10-minute walk from the main resort hub
Further from the beach than Sani Beach or Porto Sani
Can feel isolating for families who want a lively atmosphere
Not ideal for teens or tweens who want to be at the centre of things
Our verdict: A beautiful, underrated choice for families who value peace over proximity. Best suited to children under ten and parents who genuinely want to slow down.
Sani Dunes
Best age range: 12 years and over | Vibe: Sophisticated, design-led, modern

What it's like
Sani Dunes is the newest hotel at the resort and takes a deliberately different direction. Contemporary architecture, natural materials, and muted tones create a hotel that feels closer to a grown-up boutique property than to a family resort. Its headline feature is Greece's largest heated outdoor swimming pool, which overlooks the Aegean genuinely spectacular.
Three exclusive restaurants, private beach access, and a marina-facing position complete the picture. Families with teenagers will find that this is the hotel where older children genuinely relax into the experience.
Who it suits
• Families with teenagers and children aged 12 and over
• Parents who want a design-led, sophisticated hotel without compromising on access to resort activities
• Teens who want marina proximity, the Teen Club, Chelsea FC Soccer Centre and Bear Grylls Academy
• Families celebrating a special occasion who want elevated dining and a refined atmosphere
Expert insight: Sani Dunes is the hotel that looks stunning in every photograph, and it absolutely delivers in person. But I always ask families: " How old are your youngest children? If the answer is under 12, this isn't the right hotel for you. The atmosphere isn't designed for energetic young children, and you will notice it.
Common mistake: Parents often assume Sani Dunes is suitable for all ages because of the beautiful pool. In reality, families with energetic younger children frequently feel more at ease at Sani Beach. Sani Dunes has a minimum recommended age of 12 for good reason; it is not an arbitrary rule.
PROS
Most stylish and contemporary hotel at Sani
Greece's largest heated outdoor pool with Aegean views
Private beach and Michelin-influenced dining
Perfect for teens: Marina, Teen Club, and sporting academies nearby
Indoor heated pool — excellent for shoulder season
Sophisticated atmosphere, both adults and older children appreciate
CONS
Minimum recommended age of 12 — a genuine constraint for mixed-age families
No kids' club on-site (use facilities at neighbouring hotels)
Higher price point than Sani Beach or Sani Club
Not the right fit if your family includes children under 12
Our verdict: One of the most exciting hotels in European family travel for the right family. If your children are 12 or over.
Sani Asterias
Best age range: 12 years and over | Vibe: Boutique, ultra-luxurious, intimate

What it's like
Sani Asterias is in a category of its own. Intimate, exceptionally private, and quietly confident, it is the finest hotel at the resort by some distance. A full renovation completed in 2025 has further elevated it: newly designed residences, some with private pools, and a reimagined Water Restaurant in collaboration with two-Michelin-starred Chef Bruno Oger.
Families staying here have full access to the crèche and children's club at Porto Sani, and all resort-level amenities remain available. But the hotel itself is best appreciated by families with older children or teens, or those celebrating something truly special.
Who it suits
• Families with teenagers aged 12 and over who can appreciate boutique luxury
• Parents who want the highest level of personal service and genuine privacy
• Multi-generational families, the intimate scale suits grandparents who find larger resorts overwhelming
• Families marking a milestone occasion who want an extraordinary base
Expert insight: Sani Asterias is the hotel I would choose for my own family if my children were teenagers. The level of service, the private beach, and the newly renovated suites are genuinely world-class. For families with young children, it is simply the wrong hotel: not because it isn't beautiful, but because you won't be able to fully enjoy it.
Common mistake: Some families book Sani Asterias because it is the most expensive and assume that means the most family-friendly. The opposite is closer to the truth. Its strengths, intimacy, quiet, and boutique scale are precisely what make it less suitable for young children.
PROS
Most exclusive and intimate hotel at Sani Resort
Fully renovated in 2025 — new residences with private pools
Private beach for Asterias guests only
Chef Bruno Oger collaboration with extraordinary dining
The highest level of personal service at the resort
Concierge-level attention to every detail
CONS
No on-site kids' club use Porto Sani's facilities nearby.
Not well-suited to families with children under 12
The most expensive hotel at the resort
An intimate, quiet atmosphere is not designed for young children
Fewer room type options than Sani Beach or Porto Sani
Our verdict: One of the finest boutique luxury hotels in Greece. For the right family, older children, milestone occasion, or a genuine appetite for the very best it is exceptional.

Sani Dunes vs Sani Asterias: Which Is Right for Families with Older Children?
Both hotels are best suited to families with children aged 12 and over. Here's how they differ:
• Design: Sani Dunes is the more contemporary, design-forward hotel. Sani Asterias is intimate and boutique, less about the look, more about the feel.
• Scale: Sani Asterias is smaller and more personal. Sani Dunes offers more variety within the hotel itself.
• Dining: Sani Asterias edges it for pure dining excellence with the Chef Bruno Oger collaboration. Sani Dunes has excellent restaurants but covers different ground.
• Pool: Sani Dunes's largest heated outdoor pool is a genuine highlight that teenagers love.
• Price: Sani Asterias is the more expensive of the two.
• Best for: Sani Dunes for active teenagers who want the pool, marina, and sports academies as their playground. Sani Asterias for a more refined, milestone-occasion family experience.
Expert insight: If I had teenagers who wanted to be active and social, I'd choose Sani Dunes. If I were celebrating a landmark birthday or anniversary and my teenagers were the type who appreciate fine dining and a private beach, Sani Asterias would win.

What I Wish More Families Knew Before Booking Sani
The hotel that surprises guests the most
Sani Club. It consistently has the highest repeat-booking rate among the five hotels, yet it's the one families are most likely to overlook when browsing. If you value peace, character, and views over convenience and bustle, you will be delighted every time.
The hotel parents most commonly regret booking
Sani Dunes, but only when families book it without fully understanding the age dynamic. It is a wonderful hotel. It is not the right hotel for children under 12. When families with a 7-year-old and a 4-year-old book it because the pool photos are beautiful, the holiday rarely lives up to their expectations.
Busiest vs quietest
Sani Beach is the busiest hotel on the resort, particularly in July and August. Sani Club is the quietest. Sani Asterias, despite being the most exclusive, sees a steady stream of guests, but the scale means it never feels crowded.
What looks better online than in reality
Nothing at Sani Resort falls into this category, which is genuinely rare. The property is immaculate. The one caveat: some of the standard rooms at Sani Beach can feel smaller than the photography suggests, particularly in the older wing. Always ask about the newer family suites when booking.
Where I would personally stay, with my children
• Children under 3: Porto Sani the villa-style rooms and crèche access make it the only sensible choice
• Children aged 3–8: Sani Beach beach access and kids' club proximity win at this age
• Children aged 8–12: Either Sani Beach or Sani Club, depending on whether you want activity or peace
• Teenagers aged 12+: Sani Dunes for active teens, Sani Asterias for a special occasion

Sani Resort welcomes children from 6 months. The crèche at Porto Sani accepts babies from 6 months. Sani Dunes and Sani Asterias recommend a minimum age of 12 for the most comfortable experience.
Which Sani hotel is best for toddlers?
Porto Sani. Villa-style rooms with separate sleeping spaces, crèche from 6 months, and a dedicated children's pool. Sani Beach is a strong second if beach access is the priority.
Which Sani hotel is best for teenagers?
